aaThe WE Philosophy
WE are dedicated to creating ecosystems and relationships that support life to its fullest potential. We believe that humans play a vital role in the creation and regeneration of healthy ecosystems, both on the land and in the community. Through our design and education services, it is our intention to weave humanity and the landscape into healthy relationships. We design these relationships to support each other, creating holistic systems bountiful in food, water, healthy soil, and high energy yields. We believe it is this systems-approach that will bring our culture beyond sustainability and into balance for generations to come.

aaOur Vision

We envision abundant, healthy, and regenerative communities where people live in restorative relationships with the land and with each other. Our work is dedicated to the future generations and is in honor of both ancestral wisdom and the human ingenuity of today's society. In this spirit, our logo depicts a human hand holding an oak leaf. It is a symbol of the vital relationship that humans play in tending and regenerating the landscape. It is a call to humanity to once again step into our role as caretakers of the earth and do our part to create fertile, abundant and regenerative ecosystems for the future generations to enjoy.

As an educator and permaculture designer, Lauren is dedicated to creating abundant, healthy and regenerative communities where people live in restorative relationships with the land and with each other.

Lauren began studying Permaculture in 2000 at Pennsylvania State University where she completed her B.S. in Earth Sciences and Geography. She completed a masters-level certification in Ecological Agriculture from the New College of California and spent three years in an advanced, intensive study of regenerative design and nature awareness with the Regenerative Design Institute (RDI).

Lauren has taught environmental education and gardening to both youth and adults for the past 6 years, most currently at the Marin Waldorf School. Fueled by her dedication to sustainable food systems, Lauren helped create the framework for Petaluma Bounty, a local community food security initiative.

Currently, Lauren co-facilitates various workshops and courses in Regenerative Design, Permaculture, Nature Awareness and Cultural Mentoring with the Regenerative Design Institute (RDI) www.regenerativedesign.org . Check out the Four Seasons Permaculture Design Course and the Regenerative Design & Nature Awareness (RDNA) at RDI for more information.

Lauren also co-founded and is on the steering committee of Permaculture Marin, a non-profit organization dedicated to collaborating with local communities to teach and apply the principles and practices of permaculture as a means of furthering the development of regenerative ecologies, economies and communities.
